My Blaufrankisch experience has always been the same - so closed and shy when young, darn. I was so unsatisfied, demanding. I didn’t bottle most of my trials because they didn't feel good enough. But then I realised how wrong I was. I was missing the point. This grape just needs some time in the bottle. Because something happens in there. Like when you puff corn kernels and they become the crunchy yet succulent popcorn we all love. Too bad I didn’t realise earlier - my wine archive would be full of great popcorn by now. Sorry if it sounds like a terrible metaphor, but that's the way I see it. BFF (Blaufrankisch forever)!
