Part of our '22 limited edition release – six wines each from a single, singular barrel. Wines that were evolving distinctly differently from their peers. I liked that character so much that I decided to bottle them as their own animals, when the right moment came, in spring 2022. Only 300 bottles of each made.
This Blaufrankisch 2019 comes from the loess soils of our Šmatláky (Otáhal) vineyard in Velké Bílovice. Very classical winemaking, no carbonic maceration – imagine a delicate, classical Moravian (=cool-climate, at least so far it was) red. On lees in oak barrel until bottling. No fining, no filter, no sulfur added.
Finesse, typicity, sense of place.
